Cloud Nothings - Here and Nowhere Else
The word "maturation" and the word "punk" don't often coexist easily: For a band like Cleveland's Cloud Nothings, whose aggressive songs channel slackerdom and frustration, growing up would seem antithetical to its mission. But the group's third album,Here and Nowhere Else, threads the needle just right.
Here and Nowhere Else is Thirty minutes of pedal-to-the-floor, tension-igniting rock ‘n’ roll that can just be too much in most ears, but Here and Nowhere Else condenses these moments into reasonable servings that are successful across the board. As The 405 puts it, "There are avalanches of guitar. There's churning scuzz. There are buzzsawing, coruscating maelstroms of guitar."
Overall, it's a great ride, have a listen to their song Now Hear In.
